Evidence to Support Keith’s Story
Robert White’s DNA was found on Keith’s service revolver, an indication that White attempted to grab the gun during an altercation.
None of the spent shell casings recovered by the evidence technicians immediately after the shooting were located inside or even near the master bedroom doorway where Robert White said Keith was standing when he shot.
In fact, the shell casings were recovered from the middle of the upstairs hallway and the hall bathroom, consistent with where Keith said the altercation took place, and exactly where Stacey Washington (Keith’s wife) said she witnessed the two men assaulting Keith. (One additional shell was caught in the clothing of Brandon Clark and fell from the stretcher when he was moved by EMS personnel.)
“A very high degree of certainty the recovered casings were not indicative of shots fired from the doorway or just behind the doorway.”

A gunshot residue report showed that the shooting had occurred at close range, whereas White said it was at a distance of about eight feet.
Mr. Clark’s pants fibers were found on Keith’s vest (pg. 126), consistent with Keith claim that he was kicked during a struggle.
Nine first responders on the scene testified that Keith had swelling and bruises on his face and neck, consistent with being in a fight.
Keith's watch was broken and torn from his wrist during the struggle. Expert testimony in a later proceeding (pg. 14) showed that the nature of the damage to the broken watch was indicative of the watch being ripped off Keith's arm.
All those things [the evidence he uncovered] actually supported Mr. Washington's version of events more closely, that there was a combat-type situation, a fight in the upstairs hallway, rather than Mr. White's version of events as he detailed in his statement.
